Just a little note to let you all know that I've added
this link of my pictures to the left-hand side of the page. Dingman and I went sightseeing Saturday, and check it out to see the results. I will be updating the picture site as much as I can, now that I have a fancy new digital camera to play with.
Enjoy!

It has taken me a while to get back into the routine of writing. I have not been feeling particularly creative, and the longer I put off writing, the more there is to tell. Sigh. Oh well, no time like the present…
It’s Sunday, and I just finished reading the fifth Harry Potter book. I had been looking forward to it since I pre-ordered my copy six months ago from Amazon. The mailman delivered the much-awaited book to my doorstep at 7 am Saturday morning. 7 am. I don’t even get up that early to go to work! Anyway, I spent most of the weekend reading, because I just had to know what happens. I won’t ruin it here for you, just in case you’re a fan and haven’t read it yet. But it’s good, although I liked the fourth one better.
Anyway, it’s been about two weeks since we got back. The flight back was a nightmare because of a kid that would not stop screaming the entire time, thanks to his over-indulgent father, and an American girl sitting behind us who sang out loud along with the songs of the in-flight movie, Chicago. Needless to say, we were not in the best of moods when we landed at the airport of the world’s toilet. We got back home after dealing with the usual transportation nightmares of the city, and didn't really leave our apartment until Monday morning for work. Neither one of us was ready to deal with Londoners so soon.
It didn’t take very long to get back into the swing of things here, and now that we only have about six months left before we head home for good (yes, the rumours are true; we’re coming back in January), we’re trying to cram in as much “culture” as we can. On Friday, we went to watch a play at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, which was possibly one of the coolest things I’ve done since we got here. I only wish I had brought my camera. The inside of the theatre is amazing. The cheapest tickets are 5 pounds each, and that’s to stand in front (or beside) the stage for the duration of the play. You have to be either really cheap or a die-hard fan to be willing to stand for four hours. You can eat and drink during the performance, and you can buy anything from ice cream to strawberries to soup just outside of the main theatre. It was really cool, and I’m looking forward to going back in September, when they’ll be showing
The Taming of the Shrew.
Next weekend we’re going up on the London Eye, something I’ve been told I should definitely see. It’s basically a 30-minute “flight” on a gigantic ferris wheel, where you get to see spectacular views of the city. Should be fun. We’re also planning to visit Buckingham Palace when it opens its doors to the unwashed masses in August. Of course, the queen won’t be there, but no one really wants to see her horse face up close anyway.
